So let’s quickly check if there is some open data available on how safe your way to school is. And hey, what a surprise, it is! MapBS is where you find anything spatial for the canton Basel-Stadt - including data on:
- Pathways for pedestrians
- Safety of street crossings (Schulwegsicherheit)
- School locations
- take the pathways as routes (needs some optimization / snapping)
- add the crossings as resistances
- use a routing machine (e.g. www.graphhopper.com) to find the safest way to school
